The Trussell Trust runs the largest network of food banks in the UK, giving emergency food and support to people in crisis. Fourteen million people live below the poverty line and in the last year 1,9 million three-day emergency food supplies were distributed to people in crisis.
A gentleman came into our Foodbank on Wednesday, 4 December, to ask Citizens Advice for a food voucher. He called us back today and left this message:
‘I just wanted to say a big thank you to you as a team for your help with food yesterday. And to the lovely lady I spoke to who asked me if I’d like to be included in your prayers for a job interview I was going for, I just wanted to report back that I actually secured the job today!
I’ll start the training course next week and it’s a very well paid position and I’ll be in a much better position in 2020 going forward.
I don’t know whether it was the prayer or not, or just the positivity from coming there (Foodbank) yesterday and seeing you guys but I just wanted to say a massive thank you and God bless.’
