The Christmas Hamper Project

The Christmas Hamper Project provides hampers of essential food items along with some Christmas treats to individuals and families in Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.

The project brought the local community together to help make the festive season more joyful for those experiencing hardship.

Hampers

Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, volunteers, donors and community partners, we were able to deliver 945 hampers, which fed 3,214 people across Basingstoke, Tadley and the surrounding areas.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who contributed, donated, packed or delivered hampers, helping us spread kindness, dignity and joy throughout our community.

Working with over 160 partnering agencies, we receive hamper referrals from across the whole community.

Each year it is a joy to see the community coming together to support those who might otherwise go without and over the years we have loved having so many individuals, companies, churches and other groups involved in the Basingstoke Christmas Hamper Project.

Throughout December volunteers wrap, pack and deliver hampers across Basingstoke and the surrounding areas.

Volunteers join us from the community and local businesses to spend a morning or afternoon at the Hamper Packing Hub putting the hampers together. Once packed, hampers are delivered by volunteers and Churches in time for Christmas.

Where to deliver hamper donations

If you are a company donating multiple premade hampers, please email admin@basingstoke.foodbank.org.uk to confirm the best place to deliver these to.

In all other instances, please deliver your hamper donations to our warehouse in Houndmills or at one of our donation points.

Our warehouse opening hours are: Monday to Friday, 10.00am – 3.00pm.

We start delivering hampers to our distribution hubs from early December, so please deliver to us as soon as you are able so that we have time to get them out for Christmas.
