We will be hosting The Environment Centre again at our centres during September / October. They can provide energy advice, sign people up for the Priority Services Register, and refer clients on to their Energy Team for further additional support – this can be anything from boiler replacements to insulation grants. They are also able to access fuel vouchers as well for people struggling to pay their energy bills. In cases of emergency and heating breakdown, they can provide clients with electric heaters free of charge.
They have also received some additional funding so that they may provide free Energy Saving Packs to clients. On the day, they will have things such as reflective radiator foil, LED bulbs, draught-proofing tape and thermometer cards for low income households. Clients do not need to pay for these or be referred on if they would not like.
Furthermore, we have more availability for home visits, so clients who struggle to access our services on the phone will be eligible for this. At home visits, we can provide our normal advice, along with more specific requests like reading a client’s meter or helping with their heating controls. Additionally, we can provide home visit clients with Energy Saving Packs also and help fit them in people’s homes.
They will be at our Foodbank Centres on the following dates:
Buckskin – Friday 17th November.
Sarum Hill – Thursday 23rd November.
Tadley – Tuesday 28th November.
Brighton Hill – Possibly 8th November TBC or Wednesday 6th December.
