Get Help
How to get help
If you need help from our foodbank here are a few simple steps to follow.
The most important step is to get a Foodbank voucher.
We know that there are many different reasons you may need the foodbank. Although it can often seem overwhelming, with the right support, there is much that can be done to help.
In order to provide the most appropriate help for the circumstances of your situation we work with local support services and community organisations. If they feel you are struggling to put food on the table, they will issue you with a foodbank voucher.
1. Speak to a referral agency
Call or visit a local support service in your area. They will assess your situation and determine if you are eligible for an emergency food parcel.
Here are some numbers you can call:
- Citizen’s Advice Basingstoke Helpline: 0808 2787829
- Citizen’s Advice Tadley Helpline: 0808 2787987 or 0118 981 7567
- Help Through Hardship: 0808 208 2138
- Or visit our Where to get a Foodbank voucher page for a full list or our referral partners.
You will be asked for some details including the names of any adults in your household and the reason you need a voucher. This is so that agencies can offer advice, guidance, support and potential finance help.
2. We will receive your Foodbank voucher
Your support service will send us your voucher.
Once we receive it, you can visit any of our seven foodbank centre locations.
If we have your phone number, we will usually contact you to confirm we have your voucher. If you are unsure, give us a call on 07722 673645 or 07941 336464 and we will be able to confirm this with you.
3. Visit any of our Foodbank Centres
You can find a list of our local centres and opening times here.
When you arrive, we’ll welcome you with a warm drink and our trained volunteers will chat with you about your food choices and dietary needs.
While your food parcel is being packed, they will speak to you about your situation and let you know of local support available.
A Citizens Advice worker is available at each of our centres and can offer further confidential and impartial advice during your visit.
